    <content>Due to the Fire at Danny&#8217;s place, we held our monthly meeting at the Ft Douglas Museum. 

Offers were made to see what, if anything, we could do to help Danny (because of the Fire).   

There was an update on the web page.  It was reported that we are having some challenges getting follow though on requests to fix problems, update information, etc.  The challenges are being addressed. 

The club is still looking for member support on working with Ft Douglas in restoring the WWII Ambulance.  Get with Bill Abbott if you can help. 

We had several members attend the MVPA National Convention in Portland.  It was noted that there wasn&#8217;t very many military vehicles on display for a National Convention, but overall, everything went well. 

Jack Tomlin updated on the Wendover Air Show, September 20th.  He will be sending several vehicles to the show.  If you can participate, please get with Jack. 

The annual club BBQ- Swap Meet and Potluck will be held at Jack&#8217;s Place in Tooele, October 18th at 11 am (1180 W Utah Ave).  Cost for members is free, and family members can purchase a meal for $20. 

Bruce Morgan gave an update on the Veterans Day Observance Parade being held in Odgen on November 8th at 11 am.  He briefed that the rally point will be at 3100 Washington Blvd.  Contact Bruce for details. 

The MVPA National Convoy is still schedule to spend the night at Murray Park.  Club members are being asked to provide security and assist members of the convoy with getting around the valley while they are here.  More information to come as the convoy dates get closer.   

Also, It was noted that to officially participate in the Convoy, you must be a member of the MVPA and a $100 registration fee will need to be submitted.  See Mike for details. 

There was several discussions about different car shows being held in the local area.  We will try to update the web site so members can have a quick reference on where/when/who/etc. if they want to participate. 

Several members have not paid dues for the last few years and we have had no contact with them.  It was voted that they would be removed from the membership roster.  If they re-contact the club and are interested in updating their membership, we would place them back on the roster immediately. 

The next meeting is scheduled for Sept 25 at Fort Douglas Museum.

    <content>We had to defer the approval of the August Meeting minutes and Financial Report to next month because Buck had auto problems and couldn&#8217;t attend the meeting.
 
There was an update on the possibility of posting the club news letter on the web site. It is in the works and hopefully will be done soon.
 
Update on the Ft Douglas Ambulance project: It was announced that Carl Smith was willing to use his restoration team in Tooele to help the club complete the project. Bill Jr stated that the ambulance would need to have the motor and transmission removed prior to having it worked on. A work date is scheduled for September 30th at 5pm at Ft Douglas. 
 
The Clubs annual Summer Camp out was good. Member took several trails and even attempted to do some night driving with blackout lights only. The high light of the trip was the use of a shower.
 
The Clubs annual BBQ and Swap meet was moved from Jacks place back to Danny&#8217;s. We also decided to lower the cost for family/friends from $20 to $5 per person. If you want to participate or invite a friend/family member, please notify either Mike F or Buck no later than October 10th. The BBQ is set for Oct 18th at 10am.
	It was noted that members/family/friends bring side dishes for the potluck along with own plates and utensils. The theme of this years meeting is "Chaos of the Universe"
 
Update of the Veterans Day Observance Parade was given by two representatives of the Department of Utah Veterans of Foreign Wars. The date of the Parade is Nov 8th at 9am. Members were asked to meet at 18th St and Washington Blvd in Ogden. If your planning on showing up, please email Dennis Howland (dennishowland@msn.com) or Bruce Morgan bfmorganwc52@yahoo.com.
 
2009 MVPA National Convoy - The route for the convoy (as it effects Utah) is from Evanston, to Ogden, to Murray. Spend the night in Murray. Leave and head for Dougway Proving Ground in Tooele. There will be several tasks needed to be completed before July 2009. Mike is asking for anyone who would like to help, please contact him.
 
The Wendover Air Show was a huge success for the Club. Over 15 vehicles were on presentation. Several members recommended that this show become one of the main activities that the club fully supports.

There was discussion that more members might show up to more activities if given help from other club members.  Also, for those who do show up, there was concern voiced about the need for helping them. Everyone agreed that if anyone member wants to participate, we will be there to help them.
 
The discussion of a fund raiser were brought up again. The creation of T-shirts with the club logo on front and a military vehicle on back was the leading idea. Bill Jr and George Spargen will research costs, options, etc. and have something to present as soon as possible.
 
The suggestion of having a "Business Card" available for members to hand out (for example at the Wendover Air Show). The Card might have the Club logo, web site info, etc. but still be generic enough for anyone to hand out. Harley will research what is available and present his idea as soon as possible. 
 
During the Air Show, Chip and Bruce dressed in re-enactment, time appropriate, military clothing. Several people were very interested in learning the history of the uniform, weapons, etc.. It was suggested that the club should encourage more education to the public by way of re-enactments, information, etc.
 
Several members are headed for Phoenix, Az for the annual swap meet. Dates are January 24 to 26. If you would like to go, see Doc or George.
 
For sale: 1944 Willy Jeep that has an original "gray" paint job that was found when it was started to be restored.  If interested, contact Dean Anderson at 966-6520 or email at goldnugget93@msn.com.

    <content>The Club met in monthly meeting at 11:00 hr 18 October, 2008 at Danny&#8217;s Place for the annual Swap Meet and BBQ. The approval of the August and September Meeting minutes was deferred due to BBQ and swap meet activities of the day.

Financial Report - Again, due to the nature of the meeting&#8217;s BBQ and Swap Meet activities, the financial report will be presented in a future meeting. Contact Buck if you want specifics on Club funds or minutes prior to the next regular meeting.

There were several new and potential members introduced.

There was an update from Mike that the  Club&#8217;s news letter is now posted on the web site. It is up and running.

Update on the Ft Douglas Ambulance project: Bill Abbott stated that the museum  is now requesting that the ambulance not only have the exterior  refurbished, but have a working motor. The museum has a $2,000.00 budget.  The next work date is scheduled for October 28th at 5:00 pm at Ft Douglas.  There was discussion about having a Saturday work day - contact Bill, the son. if you want to set up something.

The Clubs annual BBQ and Swap was held at Danny&#8217;s place.  The theme, "Chaos of the Universe", went well.  We had several members who had family attend and there was a lot of &#8220;things&#8221; to look at and purchase.

Bruce briefed the group regarding West Jordan City&#8217;s Veteran Days Parade on the actual Veterans Day (Nov 11th) - rally point is at WJ City Center @ 9:00 am with a start time  of 11 am.  Contact Bruce for more information.

2009 MVPA National Convoy &#8211; Individuals who only want to participate in the convoy for one day can pay a single day rate of $30.  If you want to participate in the entire route or get the full registration package, the cost is $100.  See Mike for details.

The T-shirt fund raiser is still being worked on by Bill Jr. and George Spargen.  Initial costs appear to be eight (8) dollars per shirt and a minimum order of 48 shirts.  More information is to come.

The "Business Card" project for members to hand out is still being worked on by Harley.

It was again offered that several members are headed for Phoenix, Az. for the annual swap meet. Dates are January 24 to 26. If you would like to go, see Doc or George Spargen.

The December Christmas dinner is scheduled for Thursday, 4 December, 2008. The Club will me meeting at FAMOUS DAVE&#8217;S, 100 West 1977 North, Layton.  Take Exit #332 and head East on Antelope Drive, then right on 1200 West to 1977 North.

Members are reminded that there will be no meeting in Novermber.  The Christmas Dinner will serve as the December meeting. The first club meeting of the new year is scheduled for January 29th 2009 at Danny&#8217;s place.

    <content>The Annual Dinner was held at Famous Dave&#8217;s BBQ.  It was well attended and everyone seemed to have a great time. 

The club received a check by Wendover Air Show to help members pay for fuel.  If you haven&#8217;t received your part, please get with Buck. 

Harley updated on the business cards.  Basically, they will be the club logo with the website address on the bottom.  There will be a place for the member to put his/her name and phone number on. 

The next meeting is scheduled for January 29th at 7pm at Danny's place. 

Reminder - 2009 Membership Dues are due - cost is $15 dollars a year.

Larry at Smith and Edwards has a Continental Motors Corp. engine it's brand new but from another time (WW II?).  Larry thinks it might have been used on a large air compressor or large generating type unit.  It's described as a Continental Motors Corp. Model B-5415 Serial #2462.     <content>1.	The first meeting of the new year was held at Danny&#8217;s place - there was a large turn out of members.

2.	We reviewed and approved the minutes for Oct/Nov 2008.

3.	Just a reminder, yearly membership dues are due - $15 per member.  It was noted that several members have been given life-time memberships and no yearly dues are required from them.

4.	It was brought up again that the BBQ was a great success and well supported by the members - It was noted that Doc didn&#8217;t follow through again with his responsibilities - He forgot to retrieve George Stokes pots from the BBQ.   Members please feel free to bring this to his attention.

5.	There was no update on the Club T-Shirts - Bill Jr is still working on the project.

6.	Harley briefed that the club has ordered 2500 business cards for members to hand out.  They should be in by next meeting.  Also, several basic T-shirts and magnets were ordered that have the club logo on them.  Cost for a shirt is $14, magnets are $6.

7.	We had several visitors - One is the owner of a local military model manufacture company (www.greatmodels.com).  The owner, Loic (from France) offered tours, etc. if we would like.  The other visitor, Kent, has been working with Josh Coats on his Hellcat Tank.  If you would like to see the progress of the restoration, let Kent or Josh know and they can arrange a tour.

8.	George and Doc briefed on the Arizona Trip.  It was a fun show, lots of items to buy and sell.  The weather was great.

9.	Several activities supported by the club were talked about - Veteran Parades in Orem, Ogden, and West Jordan. 

10.	See the Events Page for upcoming activities.  Exact dates will be posted as the event comes closer.  If you have specific questions, please let Harley know.

11.	Ft Douglas Ambulance project is slow, but moving forward.  Vehicle is to be moved from the Fort to Carl Smith&#8217;s facility in Tooele to be painted.

12.	For anyone that is interested, Doc has a &#8220;Three Phase&#8221; motor available.  See him for details.

13.	It was noted that Danny is under the weather and the Club wishes him the best.

14.	The MVPA - Military Convoy is still planning on being in Utah July 1st.  Member will be asked to provide escorts around town, etc..  See Mike for details.

15.	It was mentioned that there is an M35 for sell on KSL.com - no details provided.

16.	Dennis Green, a friend of one of the club members, is in the hospital and its believed that he will not be released.  He has several WWII items that he would like to sell.  See Bruce for details.

    <content>1.	The opening Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Chip.

2.	There was an update on Danny&#8217;s and Jack&#8217;s health situation.  As far as Danny, he is working on adjusting his medication(s) and hopefully this will get him back on the path to recovery.  Jack actually showed up to the meeting and informed members that he will be attending a new round of cancer treatments.  This time, the cancer was found in the area between his eyes and is potentially very serious.   All members were asked to keep Danny, Jack and all other members in their payers.

3.	The minutes and financial reports from January 2009 were unavailable for review.

4.	Several members requested another web site orientation be conducted.  Please contact Mike to get that training.

5.	There was no update on the Ft Douglas Ambulance project.

6.	George Sparagen provided a short Lodi update.  Bill Sr and George have camping spots reserved.  Dates are April 11th thru the 19th.  

7.	It was briefed that the May club camping outing dates were set - May 15, 16 and 17th, but the location is still being discussed.

8.	Mike gave an update on the MVPA Convoy.  The club voted to provide a &#8220;stimulus&#8221; package to the convoy in the amount of $500.  The funds will be used to help pay for food while the convoy is here on July 1st.

9.	A reminder - club membership dues are due. $15 per year.

10.	Harley issued out the official club business cards.  He also procured club magnets and t-shirts with the club logo on them.  Cost for a magnet is $5, and the t-shirt was $15.

11.	Bruce informed members that he is selling his WC52 for $7500.  It comes with all of his bells and whistles.  See him for details.

12.	Mike briefed members that he has a source that can create stencils, vinyl letters, etc.  He will be getting a price list for members.

13.	2009 Officers will be voted on during the March meeting - if you have any interest in running for a position or want to nominate someone, please let Harley know.

14.	Josh gave an update on his Hellcat Tank project.  The entire tank has been sand blasted and is scheduled to go to the paint shop this week.  During the prepping process, Josh found original WWII paint still on the tank, behind some parts.  He was able to match exactly that paint color with some hi-tech modern paint.  The project is ahead of schedule and hopefully we&#8217;ll see it at several events in July.  See Josh for details.  

15.	There was a request to add a link to the web site that would provide a map to Danny&#8217;s place.  Mike will be working on that.

    <content>1.         Minutes of January and February 2009 were reviewed and approved. 

2.        Financial report was reviewed - there was several senior club members added as signing officials for the saving/checking accounts. 

3.        All members were reminded that membership dues are due, $15 per year.  It was also noted that life members (Jack, Danny, George Stokes, and Josh) are not required to pay the yearly dues. 

4.        Ephriam Dickson gave an update on the Ambulance project.  Carl Smith is unable to support the project at this time - so the museum is looking for donations to pay for the restoration.  It was noted that Carl Smith did make a donation towards the June 6 D-Day celebration hosted by Ft Douglas. 

5.        George and Bill gave an update on the Lodi Trip.  If you want something purchased or sold at Lodi, get a hold of them and you can make arrangements with them directly.  There was also mention of selling club items (t-shirts, magnets, etc) at Lodi.  George/Bill will work on that. 

6.        The club camp out is set for May 15, 16 and 17.  See Harley for details. 

7.         MVPA Convoy is still scheduled to arrive in Murray on July 1.  If you want to help out while the convoy is here - please get a hold of either Mike, Greg or Chip. 

8.        Bill (Sr) gave an update on the Idaho MVPC Show.  See him for details if you want to attend. 

9.        Bill (Sr) gave out UMVC membership packets.  Included in the packet was business cards, and membership forms.  If you would like one, get with Bill. 

10.        An update was given on Danny and Jacks health issues.  Both are still working on getting better. 

11.        Buck will be working on updating membership contact information and making sure the information matchs the web site information. 

12.        Club officers were discussed.  It was suggested that Buck (Finance) and Bob B (Vice President) both be extended for two years.  All voted in favor of the extension. 

13.        It was discussed about holding the May Club meeting at the military model manufacture company (www.greatmodels.com). The owner (and club member) Loic offered tours, etc.  All seemed supportive of the idea and more information will follow. 
 

14.        Information about Josh&#8217;s tank project was passed on.  The paint job wasn&#8217;t up to par and because of the amount of time and effort already spent on it, that wasn&#8217;t acceptable.  Josh had to have the tank re-sandblasted and will have a new paint job put on it.  During the moving of the tank, the cable that was being used broke, and the tank slid off the tow truck, damaging over $4000 worth of equipment in his shop.  Fortunately, no one was hurt and the tow truck company insurance will cover the damage.  He is still shooting for a July 1st completion date. 

15.        Several members asked about bringing club supplies to meeting (hats, t-shirts, etc) so members can purchase them.  Bill (jr) will be working on that. 

16.        Several members asked to have a class on how to use the Web site.  Mike will bring a computer and projector and provide training at the next meeting. 

17.        The next club meeting will be held at Ft Douglas MILITARY MUSEUM (32 Potter Street, Salt Lake City) on Thursday, April 30th at 7pm.</content>

    <content>1.	The meeting was held that the new wing of the Ft Douglas Museum and club member and museum curator, Ephriam Dickson, was thanked for allowing the club to use the facility.

2.	Ephriam also gave an update of the museum status, use of the facility by the club and encourage everyone to visit the new exhibits.

3.	Pledge of Allegiance was given by Bill Abbott jr. 

4.	March minutes were reviewed and approved

5.	A financial update was given by Buck.  Several members still need to pay their 09 dues.  A friendly reminder will be given out and just incase you forgot - dues are $15 per year.

6.	A news letter update was given.  If you would like training on how to use the web site, how to post photos, etc, please get with Mike.  If you just want photos posted, get the photos/information to Mike and he will post them for you.  It was noted that several club members who do not have access to the internet might not be receiving the news letter since it can only be found there.  Mike will be working on getting out a hard copy to those limited members.

7.	Bill Jr gave an update on the Ambulance project.  The engine is pulled out and the project is still moving forward.  It was suggested that &#8220;information cards&#8221; about the project be made and available to be handed out.  They could be used to generate funds to help pay for the project to be completed.  Bill and Ephriam will be working on that.

8.	George gave a &#8220;Lodi Low Down&#8221; on what happened during the trip.  Several members attended the event.  It was reported that food at the Winnamocka mid-point stop wasn&#8217;t as good as it has been in the past.  During the time at Lodi, the chief chef, Bill Sr, provided several excellent meals throughout the week.

9.	Harley briefed on the May Pony Express Trail trip.  The dates are May 15, 16 and 17th.  A map will be provided upon request to individuals and a copy of the map will be attached to the main page of the web site.  Contact Harley directly at 801-360-5188 for details.  Note: The camp site is in the same vicinity as last year's outing approximately four (4) miles west of Look Out Pass.

10.	The Idaho MVPC Show and Swap meet is still on.  There is no cost to show up, but those who want to sell something or stay at the meet, there is a minimal cost.  See Bill Sr for details.

11.	George and Jerry briefed that there will be a Summer Camp out - Aug 21st and 22nd - more information to come as time gets closer.

12.	It is Parade season again - several Independence day activities, car shows, etc are coming.  See the web site for details on dates, times, and locations.

13.	Buck and Mike are working on updating membership rosters.  Please take time to review your information and fix as needed.

14.	Bill Jr is now bringing club supplies (t-shirts, hats, etc) to all club meeting.  If you would like an item, please get with him.

15.	Ray briefed members that the Stadium of Fire events team approached him about having club members participate in a &#8220;re-enactor&#8221; activities.  See Ray for details if interested.

16.	Membership packets are available to be handed out - see Bill Sr for a packet.

17.	A question was raised about the clubs 501 ( c) and incorporation status.  Harley will be checking into it.

18.	Several members talked about creating a monthly calendar with members vehicles highlighted on each month.  The calendar would be used as a possible fund raiser.  Greg will be checking into it.

19.	Greg briefed that the Utah Commemorative Air Force will have several WWII planes including a B17 &amp; B24 here in Utah in June.  It is possible that members will have an photo opportunity to get pictures of their vehicles and the planes together.  See Greg for details. 

20.	It was asked if the web site could sponsor some type of page where members could post items for sale.  It was made clear that if it was possible, the page would only be an information page and actual purchasing of items would be a private matter.  Mike will be checking into it.

21.	Ephriam offered the museum as a meeting site during the summer months.  

22. Bruce wanted to pass on that he recived a request from Jason Rusch (usarmye6@yahoo.com) who is putting on a Memorial Day Observance at the Weber County Library in Ogden.  Mr Rusch is requesting some vintage military vehicles or other small display items, rifles, pistols, etc.  Specifically, Mr Rusch is asking for help on Thursday, May 21.  If you can assist, please contact Mr Rusch directly.

    <content>1.	Opening Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Chip

2.	Minutes and Financial reports for April were reviewed and approved.

3.	An upgrade was requested by the club to the web site to be able to sell items.  Per Josh, that shouldn&#8217;t be a problem and Mike will be working on it.  It was discussed that because of the website, if a member &#8220;Googles&#8221; their name, it will show up on the search.  The only way to avoid that is to have your name removed off the website.

4.	Ephriam gave an update on the Ambulance Project.  Engine and drive train are out of the vehicle.  The overall project is slow going, but its still moving forward.  Ephriam again asked if any member would like to take home a small part of the ambulance and work on it, that would be helpful.

5.	Report was given about the Pony Express Trail Camp out.  Thanks was given to both Jerry and George for selecting a great site.   There were 7 to 8 jeeps, a couple of duce&#8217;s and several campers.  Several families attended and a great time was had by all.  It was noted that although there was a &#8220;hot shower&#8221; on scene for everyone to use, no one wanted to give it a &#8220;star&#8221; rating.

6.	There was discussion about several Independence Day parades.  Provo (George Stokes), Murray, T-Ville and others were discussed.  Most require an application to be filled out.  See Bruce for more information.

7.	The Idaho MVPC Show and Swap meet is still set for June 10th thru 13th.  Seven spots were reserved and the trip is only five hours from Salt Lake.  See Bill Sr for details if you would like to attend.

8.	MVPA Convoy is still set to arrive in Murray Park on July 1st.  Mike briefed members that the convoy is having concerns about crossing Dugway Proving grounds - specifically, they might run out of gas.  Several options were discussed.  Mike, Greg, and Chip are working on a solutions.

9.	It was briefed that the club Summer Camp out is still set for Aug 21 - 23rd.  No details yet on exact location.

10.	It was mentioned that during the Wendover Air Show, the club is planning on taking photos of vehicles, etc. for a possible club calender.  If you want to participate, be there.

11.	Buck sent around a club membership roster.  See him if something has changed in the last few months (address, phone numbers, emails, etc..)

12.	It was briefed that the club is a 501(c)(7) organization per the IRS web site.  Mike will be checking into the corporation status with the State of Utah.

13.	Ephriam briefed that the June 20th activities at Ft Douglas were cancelled due to marketing conflicts.  

14.	Josh gave an update on the Hellcat Tank.  He and his team are working 12 hour days, six days a week to get it ready for Independence Day.  He is hopeful that it will be completed in time.

15.	Buck briefed that our participation in the June 6th  Hill Air Force activity was cancelled due to lack of participation by club members.  He stated that we are still welcomed next year.

16.	It was mentioned that the VFW in Layton is sponsoring a fund raiser activity on June 27th.  See Greg for details.

17.	Greg also briefed that the Commemorative Air Force is hosting an open house at the Heber Valley Airport on June 26, 27, 28.  Airplane ride, etc will be made available.  CAF is providing a spot for our vehicles to be displayed.  See Greg for details.

18.	Brad might have his M-37 up for sale.  See him for details.

19.	Harley has his 1940 Fire Engine up for sale.  See him for details.

20.	Bruce briefed that his 42 WC might be bought by an individual in Missouri.  If your still interested, see him - it isn&#8217;t gone yet.

21.	It was voted in the Elwood Powell (aka Woody) would be made a Life member of the club due to his services as legal council.

6.	The Heber Airport/CAF show was discussed. Show is scheduled for June

7.	The Provo Freedom parade was discussed and is set for 4 Jul. See

8.	Veterans Day observance was discussed. More to come in following 
meetings. 	

9.	MVPA Lincoln Highway convoy was discussed. Dates are July 1 and 2. 
The fuel problem across Dug way has been cleared and all is set for the 
convoy. 

10.	BBQ/Swap meet is set for 17 Oct. This will be our meeting date. 

11.	The Wendover Air Show, and Club display has been set for 26 Sep. 
Calendar pictures shoot will be taken for our new calendar. 

12.	The fall campout was discussed George and Jerry have set the date to 
Aug 14 thru 16. More to come. Hardware Ranch is the Location of the 
camp out.

    <content>Opening Pledge of Allegiance was given by Bruce Morgan.

The club thanked Loic and Greatmodles Company for hosting this month club meeting.   Loic gave some history of the company, how he got involved in model making, etc.  One interesting highlight was that Loic is a chemical engineer who made his first models using paper and cardboard as building material.

Minutes and Financial reports were deferred to the next meeting.

A closing briefing was given about the MVPA Transcontinental Motor Convoy.  We had several club members participate.  The MVPA TMC official thanked the club for providing box lunches.

There was several updates on 4th of July Parades.  It was reported that besides providing historic military vehicles, the club is also venturing out into the Reenactment arena.  The two seem to work well for the parades.

We had several club members participate in the CAF Sentimental Journey activity on July 17 and 18.  

George and Jerry briefed that their sponsored camp out at Hardware Ranch is set for August 21, 22, and 23.  Yes, the dates have changed.  They look forward to anyone showing up.  The camp will be five miles up the main dirt road from the parking lot at Hardware Ranch.  The Ranch is 16 miles east of Hyrum, Utah.  The Camp site will be on the right side of the dirt road.  Hint: Look for camouflaged vehicles.

The Wendover Air show was discussed.  The air show is a one day event to be held Saturday, September 26th.  Camping in vehicles on the tarmac will be allowed Friday night.  Jack Tomlin and Mike Fernandez have other details.

It was confirmed that the clubs 501c status is current and active.  Also, that we are currently registered with the State of Utah as a Corporation.

Because of the Wendover Air show (and other activities), the club authorized Bill Abbott to spend $500 in club funds to purchase &#8220;stuff&#8221;.  The products would include t-shirts, etc...

The Club authorized George Stokes to spend $300 in club funds to pay for breakfast and possibility lunch at the Wendover Air show.

It was briefed that Danny is doing better and is still planning on hosting the club BBQ at his place.

Due to the amount of requests for club participation in different events, it was decided that Bruce Morgan&#8217;s gift for gab would be a great fit as the clubs new &#8220;Public Affairs Officer&#8221;.   It is a three year position.  Congrats Bruce.

There is Parade in Midvale on Aug 8th at 10 am.  If you can participate, please contact Cesar at 801-255-4466 or Ken Dance at 801-512-3137 as soon as possible.

Bruce stated that a guy in Canada would like to purchase a running WC51 or WC52.  Contact Rob Donnelly at 1-226-668-0997 if you have something he might be able to purchase.

3.        Financial report was given by Harley.  The report was approved by the membership. 

4.        George Spargen gave the report on the Camp out activity Aug 14 to 16.  There were only three club members who participated.   George did voice concern about the level of participation vs the amount of time and effort put into these activities. 

5.        The Wendover Air show was discussed.  It was determined that the club is unable to support the request for both re-enactment and armor displays.  There were several reasons discussed, but the bottom line is that Jack is in the hospital and Josh has his tank in the repair shop.  We are still planning on having static display vehicles at the air show.  There are five rooms available for club members to use.  Contact Mike for details. 

6.        An update was given on the Ambulance Project.  Carl Smith has offered to take on the entire restoration project.   

7.       Harry Wadley has asked to be excused from future meetings and activities.  He has scheduling conflicts due to other commitments of his time.  He will continue to pay dues and resume attendance as time allows.

8.        Bill Sr gave a PX update - we are doing well and several items are sold every meeting.  We also discussed purchasing t-shirts, etc...  It was decided that for now, we would sell what we have before purchasing more items.   

9.        Ephriam Dickson updated on what is happening at the museum.  He briefed that there are several publications and web sites maintained by different organizations if you want additional information.  He also offered a field trip to the Bear River Tour on Sept 19th.  Get with Ephriam for more details. 

10.        It was briefed that Jack Tomlin was in the hospital.  Several days after the meeting, it was discovered that Jack is doing better and should be home in a few days.  Club members voiced their support for his well being. 

11.        It was also briefed that Danny Shimizu is doing better and &#8220;coming along&#8221;.   Club members also voiced their support for Danny. 

12.        VFW Post 481 (Ogden) asked the club if they would participate again in this years Ogden Parade.  Several members are planning on participating.  The VFW post also briefed on their formal ball that is being held on the 6th.  Contact Cliff Porter for details. 

13.        There was several visitors at the club meeting, including a WWII Veteran. 

14.        Josh gave an update on his Hellcat Tank.  It was briefed that there was a problem with the amount of oil in the tank which did some damage.   It is being repaired and should be back in service in mid November.

8.        There will be NO November meeting. 

9.        The Christmas Dinner is sent for Dec 5th at Roy Village Inn (1780 W 5600 South) Layton.  The general plan is to meet and tour Hill AFB Air Museum before dinner. 

10.        Josh gave an update on his Tank.  Engine still being worked on and the plan is to have it ready by the end of November.  Josh also is working on a special custom tank hauler (it will be a hybrid fire truck with a special flat bed)

It was briefed that the last club meeting, the Christmas Party, went well.  About 24 members and guests were in attendance. 

Club Calendars &#8211; Greg gave an update.  There were some minor cost adjustments but it is still a great value.  See Greg if you would like to have one. 

That time again &#8211; Club dues are $15 &#8211; please get your dues paid for as soon as possible. 

Club Officers &#8211; new officers would be voted on in March with a start date of April 1st.  Nominations are submitted at the February meeting.  Nomination committee this year is George Stokes, Bill Abbott Sr, and Layne. 

Bruce Morgan gave an update on all car shows that he has been contact about. 

The Draft Events calendar has been completed.  See &#8220;events&#8221; tab on the web site for updates. 

Standard meetings for the 2010 year will continue to be held on the last Thursday of the month, at 7pm. 

Harley gave an update on Josh&#8217;s Hellcat Tank.  Motor to be installed soon and his tank carrier have been ordered. 

It was suggested that a &#8220;Parts and Service&#8221; list be put together for members to use.  George Stokes will be collecting the information. 

Funds from the Wendover Air Show will be broken down into three categories.  Major, standard, and minor.  Depending on what your level of participation was will determine how much you receive.  You can donate the funds back to the club. 

It was noted that George Stokes was on the front page of the Provo Daily Herald.  The herald did a story on George&#8217;s restoration of several WWII vehicles. 

Danny and Buck were reported to be under the weather and were not in attendance.  The Club members send their best wishes to them for a quick recovery.
